I had six students in my Saturday morning class today and will have a total of ten next week. All of them were delightful and so incredibly eager to begin!
Today we started with using basic shapes to roughly draw a teddy bear. There is much variety in the styles presented by my students. Some children got the ideas of using plain shapes to create a bear while other children did their own creative thing. I have taken some quick pictures of the first few bears. One parent asked me if there was any homework. Although I had not planned on this, would it be useful to offer a fun, optional, take-home assignment? Something that would challenge the children to show that they have understood what they learned that class. Hmm.
